Turritella (Lamarck, 1799), name of the typical genus, f. turris tower; see -ID3.] A gastropod of the family Turritellidæ, characterized by long turreted shells with spiral striations; a screw-shell. So Turritelloid a. [-OID], resembling a screw-shell; having the characters of the Turritellidæ.
