Thymyl

Chem. [f. Gr. θύμ-ον THYME + -YL.] The radical C₁₀H₁₃ of thymol and its derivatives; also used attrib. and in comb., as thymyl hydride, C₁₀H₁₃.H, thymyl sulphuric (acid), thymyl phosphate, silicate, sulphate. Hence Thymylamine, C₁₀H₁₃NH₂; Thymylic a., in thymylic acid, alcohol, hydrate, obs. synonyms of THYMOL.
