Ichthyol. [mod.L., a. Gr. θεράπων attendant.] A genus of fishes, the type of the family Theraponidæ, allied to the perch; a fish of this genus. So Theraponid, a member of the Theraponidæ; Theraponoid a., resembling the Theraponidæ.
