[f. thale, ad. mod.L. thāliāna adj. (f. Thal the name of a German physician, 1542–83) + CRESS.] A book-name of Sisymbrium thalianum (Arabis thaliana, Linn.), N.O. Cruciferæ, a small herb, bearing small white flowers. Also called Thale Rock-cress.
