Obs. The alleged name according to Holinshed (and copyists down to the present day) of certain pieces of money abrogated by Henry II., of which numismatists have no knowledge. (Prob. Holinshed’s error for Baseling, in sense of ‘base piece’: cf. silverling, etc.)
