Also erron. lori, lory. [a. F. loris (Buffon); said to be a. Du. † loeris booby, clown.] a. A small nocturnal climbing quadrumanous mammal (Loris gracilis), a native of Ceylon; it is tailless, and remarkable for its slender form, long limbs, and large eyes. Called more fully slender loris. b. Extended to lemurs of the related genus Nycticebus, as N. tardigradus, the slow lemur or KUKANG, and N. cinereus, the gray loris of Siam and Cochin China.
