1878. Law Rep., Chanc. Div., VII. 834. A Mr. Walton obtained several patents, the last and principal being in 1863, for preparing floorcloth by means of a certain solidified or oxidised oil to which he gave the name Linoleum, and the floorcloth made by him therewith had been called and known as Linoleum Floor Cloth, and apparently also as Linoleum. In 1864 the Linoleum Manufacturing Company was formed.
