1882. Caulfeild & Saward, Dict. Needlework, Lacet stitch, another term for Half Stitch. Lacet work, this work is made with a braid known as Lacet Braid, which is either of silk or cotton, and woven of various widths and descriptions.
1883. Standard, 26 June, 3/3. ‘Lacet’ … in principle is braid or tape shaped into a design, the ‘brides’ and pattern supplemented with lace stitches.
