Also kiang. [Tibetan kyang, rkyang.] A species or sub-species of equine quadruped (Equus kiang), a wild horse or ass, inhabiting the high table-lands of Tibet.
Blanford, Fauna Brit. Ind., Mammals, 476, treats it as a variety of the Koulan.
