E. Ind. [Hindī kurung, Marhātī kurunj:—Skr. kurunja.] A tree, Pongamia glabra, N.O. Leguminosæ, widely diffused from India to China and N. Australia; its seeds yield Kurung oil, much used in India for illuminating purposes.
