1556. Act 34 Phil. & Mary, in Bolton, Stat. Irel. (1621), 255. No cottier nor labouring man in husbandry nor horseboy, nor kernaugh shall not buy any horse.
1822. D. Stewart, Highlanders Scot. (1825), I. ii. 40. There was a peculiar class called Kearnachs . Some of these Kearnachs died in my remembrance.
