Bot. [mod.L., a. Gr. ἀσκληπιάς, f. Ἀσκληπιός Æsculapius.] A genus of plants, giving its name to a N.O., including the Milkweed, Swallow-wort, and some others, chiefly natives of the east coast of North America.
