Anisobryous a. Bot. [Gr. βρύειν to swell] = anisodynamous. Anisodactylic a. Zool. [Gr. δάκτυλ-ος finger, toe], unequal-toed (said of those insessorial birds called by Temminck Anisodactyles). Anisodynamous a. Bot. [Gr. δύναμις strength], growing with greater strength on one side of the axis than the other. Anisogynous a. Bot. [Gr. γυν-ή female], having the carpels not equal in number to the sepals. Anisomeric a. Chem. [Gr. μέρ-ος part], not composed of the same proportions of the same elements. Anisomerous a. [see prec.], not having equal, or the same number of, parts, unsymmetrical; esp. in Bot. having unequal numbers of parts in different whorls. Anisometric a. [Gr. μέτρ-ον measure], of unequal measurement, consisting of unequal or nonsymmetrical parts. Anisometropia Path. [Gr. μέτρ-ον measure + ὤψ, ὦπα, eye], inequality in the refractive power of the two eyes. Anisometropic a. Path. [see prec.], characterized by anisometropia, unequally refractive. Anisopetalous a. Bot. [Gr. πέταλ-ον leaf], with unequal petals. Anisophyllous a. Bot. [Gr. φύλλ-ον leaf], with unequal leaves. Anisopterous a. [Gr. πτερόν wing], having unequal wings; esp. in Bot. of fruit, flowers, etc. Anisostemonous a. Bot. [Gr. στήμων, ονα, thread, filament, stamen], having the stamens unequal in number to the petals or sepals. Anisosthenic a. [Gr. σθέν-ος strength], of unequal strength. Anisostomous a. Bot. [Gr. στόμα mouth], having unequal mouths, as in a calyx or corolla unequally divided. Anisotropal, Anisotropous a. = ANISOTROPIC. Anisotropy sb. [Gr. -τροπία turning], the quality of being anisotropic, æolotropy.
