1890. Woodbury, Encycl. Photogr., s.v. Focusing Glass.—Also called the focuser, focusing magnifier, compound focuser, etc. A magnifying glass fitted in a tude, and so arranged that the image upon the focusing glass is exactly in focus with the lens of the magnifier.
