Transl. of Fr. aigle-autour, Cuvier’s name for a South American bird of prey of the genus Morphnus, called Spizaëtus by Vieillot.
The name is found in Griffith’s transl. (1829) of Cuvier’s Règne Animal, but never came into English use.
