  So Convallarin, an acrid purgative glucoside C34H52O11 obtained from Lily of the Valley. Convallamaretin, Convallaretin, products of the action of dilute acids on convallamarin and convallarin, respectively.

1863–7.  Watts, Dict. Chem., Convallamarin … is obtained by diluting and filtering the mother-liquor from which the convallarin has separated … Nitric acid colours convallamarin yellow; alkalis decompose it, with separation of convallamaretin.
