1729.  Lives of Saints, III. 65 They … allow’d him [St. Alexius] to raise a little Hut for his own use under the Staircase; from this Circumstance of his Life he receiv’d the Surname of Calybite, from a Greek Word which signifies a Hut, or close Cell.
