1835. R. D. & T. Thomsons Rec. Gen. Sci., I. 274. Voltzite. This mineral is found at Pont Gibaud, in Puy de Dome. It possesses a pearly lustre; colour rose-red, or yellow.
1852. Dana, Min., 252. Voltzite. A compound of sulphuret and oxyd of zinc. Occurs in implanted globules of a dirty rose-red color.
